Road To Rock wins Gr 1 George Main
Tuesday, 29th September 2009 The Willow Park Stud graduate Road To Rock (Encosta de Lago-Trewornan, by Midyan) scored an emphatic win in Saturdays Group 1 George Main S. He came from the tail of the field to score a half-length victory in the $300,000 weight-for-age Gr1 at Royal Randwick in Sydney. Road To Rock (ridden by Glyn Schofield for trainer Anthony Cummings) defeated 6YO gelding Black Piranha (Clang-Jazztrack, by Distinctly North) & 3YO colt Onemorenomore (Red Ransom-Palia, by Last Tycoon). Road To Rock (a $100,000 yearling at the 2006 Inglis Easter Sale in Sydney) now has 5 wins (also including Listed Sportingbet Gold Cup over 2000m at Caulfield, plus 2008's Listed Carbine Club Stakes over 1600m at Randwick) and $574,800 in earnings.He was the last foal born at Willow Park of his year and now that he has matured into himself he should add further to his impressive record.
