Willow Park Mare Tops Second Day of Inglis Broodmare Sale
Thursday, 19th April 2012 Lot 321, the Zabeel mare Asmahan topped proceedings on the second day of the Inglis Australian Easter Broodmare Sale when selling for $200,000.
The daughter of the New Zealand Oaks (Gr 1, 2400m) winner She's Country (Kenfair) is also a half-sister to the Cuddle Stakes (Gr 3, 1600m) winner She Rules (Commands).
Offered by Willow Park Stud in Scone, Asmahan was sold in foal to Magic Albert (Zeditave) to Colm Santry Bloodstock. Asmahan was sold at the 2009 Easter Broodmare Sale when in foal to Tale Of The Cat (Storm Cat), she was consigned by Widden Stud and was purchased by Blandford Bloodstock for $145,000.
Willow Park's Glenn Burrow's commented: "We've had a good sale today selling all five lots that we offered. The obvious highlight was Asmahan who I sent to Magic Albert as he has two stakes winners from only three runners out of Zabeel mares. He is a great value stallion who is finally getting the due respect in the sale ring that he deserves. My Hong Kong based client was delighted with the price."
