Anamato Entered For French Arc

David Hayes-trained Gr1-winning 4YO mare Anamato (Redoute's Choice-Voltage, by Whiskey Road) is among 148 entries for France's most important race, the Gr1 Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe (2400m) at Longchamp in Paris on October 5. Prize-money for this year's Arc has been doubled to €4 million (A$6.8m), making it the world's richest turf race. Anamato (who hasn't raced since November 10 last year) boasts 4 wins (including 2007's Gr1 SAJC Schweppes Oaks over 2000m, Gr2 MRC Kewney Stakes over 1600m & Gr2 Hollylodge Thoroughbreds Classic over 1500m, plus 2006's Gr3 Darley Sires' Produce Stakes over 1600m) & 10 placings (including 2007's Gr1 Yalumba Stakes over 2000m, US Gr1 American Oaks over 10 furlongs at Hollywood Park & Listed Kevin Hayes Stakes over 1200m, plus 2006's Gr1 VRC Crown Oaks over 2500m, Gr2 Wakeful Stakes over 2000m, Gr3 Tranquil Star Stakes over 1400m, Gr3 Danehill Stakes over 1200m, Gr3 Thoroughbred Breeders Stakes over 1200m & Listed Fernhill Handicap over 1600m) from 22 starts for $963,390 earnings.
