Seven winners in eight days!

20 Sep 2021

In a fantastic week on the racetrack, Willow Park born horses won seven races in the past eight days!

Kicking off our week of good form was the Noorilim Park bred 4yo, Easy Single (Not A Single Doubt x Special Lover), who won his second consecutive race for Ciaron Maher at Swan Hill. His dam, Special Lover, is a granddaughter of the wonderful Gr1 winner Diamond Lover, who in turn is out of the legendary Eight Carat.

Two days later it was a Willow Park double at Donald, with Boss Queen (Street Boss x Echo Queen) saluting on debut, followed by Crystal Dynasty (Tavistock x Crystalised) breaking her maiden three races later. Both mares are also trained by Ciaron Maher and Crystal Dynasty was the second WP born winner in three days bred by Noorilim Park!

For good measure, Sassy Choice (Choisir x Roeinda) produced a super run to finish third behind Crystal Dynasty at just her second start, coming within a head of making it a Willow Park quinella.

Jac The Great (pictured, Sidestep x Gemini Miss) then notched up her third win on her home track at Moruya for Matt Dale, who also bred and part owns the lightly raced 5yo mare.

One Man Band (Not A Single Doubt x Busking), the half brother to Happy Clapper, had been knocking on the door for a long time with nine placings to his name and finally had his day in the sun with a great win at Corowa, also for Matt Dale.

To round out the week we had another double, this time at Wagga on Saturday. The Matt Dale team weren’t to be outdone by Ciaron Maher and gave us their third Willow Park winner for the week in Twig, a beautifully bred mare by Shooting To Win from Thrill - a half sister to Star of the Seas and Spieth. Twig was having her second start for her breeder/owner Gary Harding, for whom we sold Bounding ($1.9m) and Bonham ($1.6m) off the track.

Starliv (Star Witness x Absolutely Livid) followed suit with a great win later in the program for Canberra trainer David Kelley, her third win in 11 starts.

We’re always excited to see our graduates doing a great job on the track and congratulate all involved with this week’s winners, long may it continue!
