Willow Park achieved leading vendor by average at Inglis Broodmare Sale

11 May 2022

The breeding stock sales season is underway in Australia, with the Inglis weanling and broodmare sales taking place at Riverside Stables last week.

Willow Park presented two lovely weanling fillies in the first section of the sale, where the Star Witness filly out of Maddie de Belle sold for $55,000 to Emerald Equine. The filly by first season sire, Cosmic Force, out of Danehill mare, Reggae (IRE), realised $30,000 to the bid of Jorshan Investments.

Every year we pride ourselves on offering an outstanding group of commercial broodmare prospects across both major broodmare sale, so we were thrilled to finish as the leading vendor by average at the Inglis Broodmare Sale.

For five mares sold, we realised an average for $95,900, with a top price of $200,000 for the well bred Shezacraftsman (NZ), a three time winner in foal to leading sire Street Boss (USA), purchased by Hopetoun Lodge. Young American bred mare Proprioception (USA), carrying her first foal by emerging sire Star Turn, sold for $130,000 to the bid of Yarramalong Pty Ltd.

As one sale finishes, the team are already preparing for the next, with a draft of 24 exciting mares bound for the Magic Millions National Broodmare Sale in just over a week. Photos, videos and a brochure packed with all you need to know on each mare will be available in the coming days.
