She's an Oaks winner!

07 Nov 2022

Star filly She's Extreme (Extreme Choice) silenced her doubters yesterday with a super win in the Group 1 Kennedy Oaks (2500m) at Flemington for Sydney trainer Anthony Cummings.

Reunited with regular jockey Tommy Berry, She's Extreme was given the perfect ride from barrier one and justified her favouritism to win by a length over Pavitra (American Pharoah). With five starts under her belt this preparation, the super consistent filly has racked up a Gr1 win, two Gr1 placings and a Gr2 placing.

While some queried her ability to get the Oaks distance, being by sprint sensation Extreme Choice (Not A Single Doubt), there is plenty of staying power on the damside, in particular her dam Keysbrook (So Secret) was placed in the Gr2 WATC Derby and Gr3 WA Oaks - both over 2400m.

Keysbrook herself is a graduate of Willow Park's Magic Millions Broodmare Sale draft of 2017, where she sold to Aquis Farm for $140,000 carrying her first foal, four-time winner Ruru (So You Think).

She's Extreme is the second foal produced by Keysbrook and was purchased by a client via the Inglis Online platform as a weanling for $32,500. She joined the weanling paddocks at Willow Park, before being prepared and sold through the 2021 Inglis Easter Yearling Sale to Anthony Cummings for $275,000, coincidentally the fee her sire commands in 2022, a little more than his $22,000 fee that She's Extreme was conceived on!

With a total of 11 career starts, She's Extreme now boasts three wins (two Gr1, one Gr3), five placings (three Gr1) and $1.7million in the bank. She becomes the most successful progeny of star sire Extreme Choice, as his only dual Group 1 one.

She's Extreme now heads for a well deserved spell after a fantastic Spring preparation, with Autumn targets in mind including the Gr1 Coolmore Classic (1500m).
